hink of it as your own Hawaiian Beach Cottage. That's how we'd like you to feel at our little beach house. Just steps from the water, Sunrise Cottage conjures up childhood memories of an oceanfront beach cottage—comfy furniture, well-worn wood floors, warm salt air breezes and ocean views to soothe the soul. The front porch constantly beckons—a great spot for lazily watching the ocean's changing moods while sipping that first morning coffee or afternoon refreshment. A blend of east coast Cape Cod and Hawaiian plantation styles, our vintage cottage is spacious and light with simple furnishings—everything you'll need for a relaxing, rejuvenating Kaua'i getaway.
French doors and large picture windows in the living/dining rooms keep the ocean constantly in close-up view. (Click on PHOTO for larger view.) Two of the three bedrooms have queen-size beds and the same unforgettable ocean view. The third bedroom, furnished with two twin beds, is a quiet retreat.
The recently remodeled kitchen changes the whole interior...when we knocked down an interior wall it opened the room to that awesome oceanview. The stainless steel countertop, checkerboard floor and glassfront cabinets are reminescent of vintage cottage decor. The upgraded appliances and granite-topped peninsula make it a cook's dream. Both bathrooms have generous tile counters, tubs with showers and lots of fluffy towels. The sizeable screened windows in the baths provide plenty of fresh air and natural light. Ceiling fans work with the tradewinds to keep the house at a comfortable, feels-like-silk temperature. We've tried to think of everything to help you feel at home, from stacks of beach towels to convenient bedside reading lights in each bedroom. Click here to see a FLOORPLAN of the cottage.
Tucked away in a quiet waterfront setting, you'll be a short stroll on the seaside walking path to quaint Kapa'a Town with its wide choice of restaurants and boutique shopping (you'll find our recommendations on the Kapa'a page). Just in front, less than 30 steps from the front porch, is the soft sand and warm waters of "Baby Beach," one of the safest swimming beaches on the island for small children.
